The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah
The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are the most beloved to Allah. The Prophet testified to that. He said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhaari) WHAT ACTIVITIES IN THESE 10 DAYS WILL BRING THE REWARD OF JANNAH? Obviously, Hajj is one of the best deeds that one can do during these ten days. However for those of us who were not invited to His House this year, there are still many, good deeds that one can do and earn the Pleasure of Allah. Some of these are: 1) Fast all nine days and especially fast the Day of Arafah The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Anyone who fasts for one day for Allah’s pleasure, Allah will keep his face away from the (Hell) fire for (a distance covered by a journey of) seventy years.”(Bukhari, Muslim) The Prophet (PBUH) used to fast on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah and he said:“Fasting the Day of Arafah (ninth Dhul-hijjah) is an expiation for (all the sins of) the previous year and an expiation for (all the sins of) the coming year.” (Muslim) 2) Do a LOT of Dhikr and Takbeer The Prophet (PBUH) said: “There are no days on which good deeds are greater or more beloved to Allah than on these ten days”, so recite much Tahleel (saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah), Takbeer (saying Allahu akbar) and Tahmeed (saying al-hamdu Lillaah).” (Ahmad -Saheeh) Ibn Umar and Abu Hurayrah used to go out in the marketplace during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, reciting Takbeer, and the people would recite Takbeer when they heard them. (Bukhaari) Takbeer at this time is a Sunnah. So recite it in the masjid, in your home, on the street and every place where it is permitted to remember Allah. Revive the Sunnah that have been virtually forgotten and earn great rewards for doing so. The Prophet said: “Whoever revives an aspect of my Sunnah that is forgotten after my death, he will have a reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without it detracting in the least from their reward.” (Tirmidhi- a hasan hadeeth) Men should recite these phrases out loud, and women should recite them quietly. 3) Stand in Night Prayers: (Tahajud, Qiyam al Layl) Remember the virtues of spending the night in prayer, and its sweetness in Ramadan? Why not revive this beautiful act of worship during these nights as well? Remember, how in the last third of every night, Allah Almighty calls out to us, His servants:Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to his invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him? (Bukhaari, Muslim) Why do we miss this golden opportunity? So, seize the chance NOW and expose yourself to His Divine Generosity and Mercy, ask Him to forgive you and guide you and set things aright. He will surely listen. 4) Make Sincere Repentance. One of the most important action during these ten days is to repent sincerely to Allah and to give up all kinds of disobedience and sin right away because we do not know when we will die and thus become unable to repent, and also because one evil deed leads to another. But what does repentance mean? It means that you come back to Allah and give up all the deeds, open and secret, that He dislikes…. that you regret whatever you did in the past, giving it up immediately and be determined never ever, to return to it, and resolve to adhere firmly to the Truth by doing whatever Allah loves. “But as for him who repented, believed and did righteous deeds, then he will be among those who are successful.” [Al-Qasas 28:67] 5) Come back to the Quraan It is time now to dust off your copy of the Quraan and return to its refuge. Make it a daily habit, using these 10 days the beginning of a strong and beautiful relationship with it. Read it with meaning, reflect on it, understand it, and then implement it in your daily life.Remember that reading one letter of the Quraan earns you ten rewards. In this way, reading Surat Al-Fatihah, which doesn’t take more than two minutes, will give you more than one thousand rewards! This is on ordinary days, so what about these magnificent days! Certainly the reward will be far greater, Insha Allah. 6) Increase ALL the types of good deeds. If we are unable to go to Hajj this year, we should occupy ourselves in the worship of Allah; pray extra prayers (Nafilah) recite the Quraan. Make Dhikr of Allah, send Salaams on the Prophet, make dua, give charity, honor our parents, uphold ties of kinship, enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, and add other good deeds and acts of worship during these days. “So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom, shall see it; And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom, shall see it.” [Al-Zalzalah 99:7-8] 7) Get the reward of Hajj wherever you are: You may be unable to do Hajj this year, and you may feel sad. However, you can get the reward of it right where you are.The Prophet said: “Whoever prays Fajr Prayer in congregation, and then sits and remembers Allah until the sun rises, then (after a while) prays two rakas, he will gain a reward equal to that of making perfect Hajj and Umrah.” [He repeated the word "perfect" thrice.] (At-Tirmidhi) 8. Slaughter an animal and distribute the meat. Ibn Umar said: The Prophet lived in Madeenah for 10 years and every year he slaughtered an animal.” (Ahmad-Saheeh by al-Albaani) 9) Attend Eid prayers But remember that Eid prayer is a form of worship and we should avoid unislamic behavior (especially) in dress and in etiquette during these times. 10) Thank Allah. One of the best forms of worshipping Allah Subhaanahu wa Taala is to thank Him, deeply, sincerely and continuously. Alhamdulillah, there is much to be gained in these coming days. Hasten to do good deeds and striving hard in worship . “And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (death).” [Al-Hijr 15:99]

Casting Evil Glances is cursed by Nabi
لعن اللہ الناظر والمنظور الیھ
“May the curse of Allah be upon the one who casts evil glances and upon the one who presents him/herself to be looked at.” (Mishkaat; Pg. 270)
If casting evil glances was a minor sin, then Nabi ﷺ, being a mercy to mankind would not have cursed its perpetrator. The curse of Nabi ﷺ is clear proof that this is a very despicable crime. The meaning of curse is to become distant from the mercy of Allah. Imam Raghib Isfahani mentions in Mufradaatul Qur’aan that the definition of لعنة (curse) is:
البعد عن الرحمة
“To become distant from mercy.”
Thus, he who has become distant from the mercy of Allah Ta’ala, cannot gain salvation from the evils of his Nafs. Only he who is under the shade of Allah’s mercy can attain salvation from the evils of the Nafs. Allah Ta’ala says:
ان النفس لامارة بالسوء
The Nafs abundantly commands evil.”
(Sura Yousuf; Ayat 53, Juz 13)
So how is it possible to be saved from the evils of Nafs? Allah Ta’ala further says:
الا مار حم ربی
“Expect by the mercy of my Lord”.

The Prophet's Last Sermon
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful This sermon was delivered on the ninth day of Dhul Hijah, 10 A.H. (632 A.D.) in the valley of Mount Arafat . The contents of the message were collected from different narrations, and there are other parts to it that are not mentioned here. This sermon still needs the authenticity of all of its parts to be checked. "O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore, listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present today. O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take interest, therefore, all interest obligations shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer inequity. Allah has judged that there shall be no interest and that all interest due to Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib (the prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived. Every right arising out of homicide in pre-Islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right I waive is that arising from the murder of Rabiyah bin Al-Harith (relative of the prophet). O Men, the unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calendar in order to make permissible that which Allah forbade, and to forbid that which Allah had made permissible. With Allah the months are twelve; four of them are holy; three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumadah and Shaaban. Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things. O People, it is true that you have certain right with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never commit adultery. O People, listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers, fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim, and that Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to your selves. Remember, one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and my example, the Sunnah, and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others, and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better that those who listen to me directly. Be my witness O Allah, that I have conveyed Your message to Your people."

A humble reminder
Abu Hurairah (r.a.) reported: Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “ Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to disbelief in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn disbeliever in the morning, and would sell his Faith for worldly goods” Riyadh-us Saliheen Muslim Haidth number 87 Chapter 106 ne day of the many days
There was a man traveling on a trip with his Wife and Kids
And on the way he met someone standing in the roadway
So he asked him: Who are you?
He said:
I am the money
So the man asked his wife and kids :
Should we ask him to ride with us?
They said together: Yes of course because with the money it can help us if we wanted to doanything, and if we wanted to get anything we desired,
So they took the Money to ride with them.
And the vehicle continued its way until the man
met someone else on the road
So the Father asked: Who are you?
He said:
I am the high position and power
So the father asked his wife and kids :
Should we ask him to ride with us?
So they all answered together in one voice:
Yes of course because with the high position and power we have the ability to do anything we want and own anything we desired.
So they took the high position and power with them
And the vehicle continued to finish its trip .
And likewise he met in the same manner many people which give the pleasures and desires of this life, UNTIL ..
They met one person on the way..
The Father asks him Who are you?
He said: I am the Deen (Islam)
So the father, wife, and kids said all together in one voice: No no this isn't the time, we desire the pleasures of this life and dunyah, and the Deen will prevent us and ban us from these things and it will take control over us, and we will be worn-out from being loyal to it and its learning. And the halal and the Haram, and this thing prayer and that thing hijab, and thisfasting , and and and and and etc, It will be a burden upon us!!!
But what is certain is that we will definitely return for you to pick you up but only after we enjoy this life and everything in it.
So sadly they left him behind and the vehicle continued its trip.
And out of no where something appeared in the middle of the road
It was a check point in the road and it had a sign saying
STOP!!!
And they found a man gesturing for the father to get out of the vehicle.
So the man said to the father:
The trip has ended as far as you are concerned!!!!
And it is upon you to get out and come with me.
The father was shocked with fear and didn't say a word.
So the man said to him: I am searching for the DEEN.e Islam Is he with you?
He answered: No I left him not too far back. So if you can let me go back, I can get him for you :
You do not have the ability to go back, your trip has ended and there is no going back now..returning is impossible said the man.
But I have
The Money,
The high position and power,
My Wife,
My Kids,
and and and and and and on.
The man said to him:
They will not benefit you nor will they
protect you in front of Allah. Not one bit!
And you will leave all of this, and not one of them will help you except for The Deen e Islam you know? The one which YOU left back in the road.
So the father asked: And who are you exactly?
I AM DEATH
The one which you were needless
of and didn't take into account in your trip!!
The father looked at his vehicle and found his wife taking control of it and continuing the trip with all of its passengers but him
And none of them stayed with him, and none of them helped him in any way.
